about

Originally released in October of 2008, The Demon Beat's eponymous E.P. was recorded by Chris Compton in Shepherdstown, WV and mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago, IL.

The initial pressing of 150 copies and all subsequent pressings thereafter (namely, "Weekend Dads", which featured the E.P. along with the band's half of their out of print Caustic Eye split w/ Bud Carroll & The Southern Souls) are out of print with no plans to repress in the future. The record also found some decent longevity on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, etc. until the band decided to pull it from these services sometime in 2010.

BIG BULLET RECORDS and The Demon Beat now offer this album to you digitally for whatever price you deem fit, even if that means 100% free. The download includes five photographs taken the night of the album release show at Stonewall's Pub in Shepherdstown, WV by Melissa Rogers.

about

The Demon Beat West Virginia

The Demon Beat aren’t here to shock or alienate anyone. They’re here to make you believe in what they believe, a kind of spirit so many of the cookie cutter indie rock bands of today can’t seem to grasp. It should hit you right in the pit of your stomach, should take risks, should be more about the music than following some kind of aesthetic. More about creating than pretending. ... more
